MS 50002-DPC 550Y-980T is a dual phase grade cold rolled steel conforming to the fiat/chrysler specifications. At 550 MPa minimum yield strength, this is ultra-high-strength steel for door intrusion beams, bumper reinforcements, and tunnel structures, with very high tensile properties for peak structural performance in anti-intrusion and rollover protection members.

This specification uses the cold-rolled dual-phase (DPC) process route with controlled cooling to develop the ferrite-martensite microstructure for crash energy management.
