TRUMPF TruBend 3066 Press Brake — Steel Processing Equipment

    Overview

Our TRUMPF TruBend 3066 is a latest-generation CNC press brake that delivers precision bending with advanced controls, angle measurement, and automated tool setup.

    Operations & Applications

The TruBend 3066 is Ameristeel's newest press brake, installed in 2023. It features TRUMPF's latest bending technology including automatic angle measurement and correction, ensuring every bend meets specification on the first attempt. The machine is programmed directly from our TruTops Boost CAD system, which automatically engineers the flat blanks to the correct size based on the press brake tooling — eliminating manual calculations and reducing errors. The 66-ton press force and 80-inch bending length make this machine ideal for small to medium-sized parts that require tight angular tolerances, such as electrical enclosures, medical equipment housings, and automotive brackets. The automatic angle measurement system uses sensors to check each bend in real time and adjust the ram position if needed, compensating for variations in material thickness, grain direction, and springback characteristics. This closed-loop feedback means first-piece accuracy even when switching between different steel grades or thicknesses. The TruBend 3066 also features a quick-change tooling system that reduces changeover time between jobs to minutes rather than hours, making it economical to run short production batches and prototype quantities alongside longer runs. Our operators program bends directly from 3D CAD models, with TruTops Boost calculating bend sequences, gauging positions, and collision avoidance automatically — reducing setup time and eliminating the trial-and-error approach common with manually programmed press brakes.

This forming equipment equipment operates at Ameristeel's Michigan steel fabrication facilities, serving automotive manufacturers and metal fabricators throughout Southeast Michigan and the greater Metro Detroit region.

    Why Choose Ameristeel

Ameristeel's newest press brake features automatic angle measurement and correction, meaning your bends are right on the first attempt — no trial-and-error, no wasted material. Direct programming from our TruTops Boost CAD system eliminates manual calculations and reduces errors, delivering precision parts faster. The quick-change tooling system allows rapid job changeovers, so you get competitive pricing on short runs and prototypes without sacrificing the accuracy or quality you expect from production-volume work. With three TRUMPF press brakes on our floor, Ameristeel has the forming capacity to handle multiple jobs simultaneously, which means your order does not wait in a queue behind larger projects. The TruBend 3066 is particularly well-suited for complex multi-bend parts where bend sequence and collision avoidance are critical — the automated programming handles these challenges that would otherwise require extensive manual planning and test bends.
