SAE J2340 300X is a hsla 40 grade cold rolled / hot rolled steel conforming to the sae standards. At 300 MPa minimum yield strength, this is intermediate-strength steel for structural cross-members, seat mounting brackets, and suspension component interfaces.

The X suffix denotes solution-hardened (micro-alloyed) HSLA steel with niobium, vanadium, or titanium additions for grain refinement and precipitation strengthening.
